LWE grads Aubrey, Chelsea & Mattie Korneta met with LWC French students via WebEx. Students prepared questions ahead of time for our guests to answer. Students learned about their experiences living, studying & working in France.
LWC Orchestra members enjoyed watching the world-renowned Chicago Symphony Orchestra rehearse in Chicago today!
Today the German students welcomed Malin to their classes for a conversation about culture and her experiences in Germany. Malin’s cousin is a student at LWC and Malin is a teacher in Germany. They talked about food, cost of university, and school life, among other topics!
The LWC English Department got into the Homecoming spirit by participating in the door decorating contest. They chose passages that include a LIGHT motif. Happy Homecoming 2024-A Knight Under the Lanterns ❤️🖤🏮

The International Club traveled to Aurora on Saturday, September 14th to visit the Asian supermarket and food court at Pacifica Square. Students got to explore the store for unique flavors and ingredients, as well as sample authentic Asian dishes for lunch.
We had so much fun at our Best Buddies matching party last night!! Congratulations to all of the buddies and peer buddies on their matches! ❤️

The Lincoln Way Central PPS Department provided students with a powerful presentation regarding Suicide Awareness & Prevention. This presentation featured many LWC staff and coaches delivering the message of having trusted adults.
The Life Skills class had a special visitor in class today to learn about Hispanic Heritage Month! Señora Rycyna taught the students about famous Hispanic Americans and the students also learned some basic phrases and the colors in Spanish. It was muy divertido!

Lincoln-Way Central is excited to host the District 210 College Fair for students and parents this evening from 6-8 pm. The fair will have over 125 Colleges and Universities in attendance and will provide a great opportunity for students to talk with college representatives. They will have the chance to ask questions and learn more about each school. We expect a large number of students/parents to attend this District event. Please see the map for assistance in parking and the building entrance location for this event.

The Lincoln Way Central PPS Department provided grade-level programming utilizing our college and career readiness platform, SchooLinks.com. The School Counselors delivered three different interactive lessons designed to be hands-on workshops. Students discovered career interests, set goals, explored the college search features and prepared for the upcoming District College Fair on September 11th. Mr. Fetherling, Instructional Technology Coordinator, also made a guest appearance to the presentations to share information on the online organizational planner, StudyO, and LWC Activities.

Mrs. Korczak’s English 1 Honors students played Quizlet Live in teams to encode their first vocabulary words. Students collaborated with nearly everyone in the classroom, met new people, communicated, and problem solved. It was a fun challenge for our first Friday as Knights!❤️🖤

Mr. Raatjes and his 3rd hour Advanced Art students took advantage of some beautiful weather today to gain some experience with observational drawing outdoors.
Over 100 Knight Freshmen attended our premier "Tech Talk" that introduced Microsoft Office 365, and other technology tools, and how to use them. This three hour seminar had three 20 minute large group sections and then students "went to work" in break out sessions. Great start!
