On Wednesday, February 9th, the Lincoln-Way Central Mathletes earned a hard fought third place in the Southwest Suburban Blue Division Conference Finals. The Knights earned a total of 503 points, just 28 behind 1st place. The Knights won medals in 13 out of 15 areas of competition by earning 6 third place medals, 2 second place medals, and 5 first place medals. Sophomore Joey Babich and Freshman Nate Smith earned 3rd place in their presentation on Rational exponents. Seniors Brendan Born and Phil Donaghey captured 1st place in their Combinatorics presentation. In addition, Seniors Gebran Hammoud and Andy Habib prevailed in the Conic Sections presentation with a perfect 50 points. The Knights will set their sights on a victory at the Regional competition in late February.
