The Lincoln-Way welding program in partnership with SkillsUSA is proud to announce the launch of their annual fundraiser, which will culminate in the district-wide welding contest on March 14th. This year, all funds raised will go toward scholarships, tools, and equipment for deserving Lincoln-Way trades students.
To reach their fundraising goal, the program will be raffling off a brand new 2023 Vivid EV Model V4 Monster Golf Cart with an estimated value of $14,000. Tickets are on sale now for $10, and the winner will be drawn at the welding contest next month.

Last week, Lincoln-Way Central hosted the SWSC Journalism Conference! Students from across the district, as well as others in the SWSC, heard from media professionals in a variety of outlets to help them explore career paths in the field.






The Scholastic Art Competition is the largest and most competitive show in the nation. This year 1,901 pieces of artwork were entered by over 25 schools, and only one third were accepted into the show.
Congratulations to Jack Strezo (West) and Kira Szczytowski (Central) for having their artwork recognized on this national stage. Jack's chalk drawing received an honorable and his painting was awarded a silver key, and Kira received an honorable mention award for her printmaking self-portrait.




Yesterday, LWC LIFE Skills students visited the Farmhouse Academy in Mokena where they learned how to make homemade pasta! Thank you for providing this opportunity for our students.







Lincoln-Way West will be hosting an adult woodworking class for beginners next month.
The class is open to anyone who is interested in exploring the basics of woodshop safety, hand tools, power tools, woodworking machinery, lumber selection, sanding, finishing, and more. Tools and materials will be provided in order for all participants to build their very own Adirondack Chair!

Registration for the Lincoln-Way 2024-2025 preschool program will open on Monday, January 29th!
Children must be three years old by September 1, 2024, toilet trained and reside within the district to be eligible. Parents must complete registration online, which will be made available on January 29th on the district website.
This program gives Early Childhood Education students an opportunity to work with children in a preschool environment under the full-time supervision of a Family and Consumer Sciences instructor.

With the help of its partners, the Lincoln-Way Foundation can continue its mission of providing enhanced educational opportunities for students and scholarships for graduating seniors at all three Lincoln-Way schools. Yesterday, administrators from all three schools met with local law enforcement and emergency services agencies to discuss and refine the district's emergency response plan. This meeting is part of our ongoing collaboration to maintain the safety of our school community.

The Board of Education held two strategic planning sessions this week. The work done in these meetings will guide the development of the district's five-year strategic plan. Thank you to all who participated this process!




The Lincoln-Way Foundation has donated $90,000 to Lincoln-Way Community High School District 210 for updating the libraries at all three high schools. The updates will include collaboration stations to be used by students and teachers alike. The stations will allow for customized instruction and small group work.
