It's Friday night lights in Frankfort!

At today's Bring Change2Mind meeting we talked about our fears and how we sometimes may hide behind a mask as a defense mechanism to conceal our emotions and vulnerabilities.

Tonight, over 250 LWE students were inducted into the National Honor Society. NHS is an organization that provides students with the knowledge and skills to become transformational leaders in their school, community, and more. The NHS officers explained how NHS is built on the four pillars of scholarship, service, leadership, and character.
Counselor, Mrs. Babcock, was nominated by NHS to give the keynote address -- Reminding our students to celebrate their accomplishments, but also take a moment and focus on their mental health. NHS Advisor Mrs. Richter closed the ceremony welcoming the new 2024-2025 members. Congratulations Griffins!

Congratulations to our Class of 2025 Senior Class Board! Your leadership and dedication will surely make this year memorable. Wishing you all the best as you plan exciting events and create lasting memories for your classmates! @lweclassofficers

Join us to see our fall play Arsenic and Old Lace. The performances are Friday October 18th and Saturday October 19th at 7pm. Tickets are $10 at the door.
Drama critic Mortimer Brewster’s engagement announcement is upended when he discovers a corpse in his elderly aunts’ window seat. Mortimer rushes to tell Abby and Martha before they stumble upon the body themselves, only to learn that the two old women aren’t just aware of the dead man in their parlor, they killed him! Between his aunts’ penchant for poisoning wine, a brother who thinks he’s Teddy Roosevelt, and another brother using plastic surgery to hide from the police—not to mention Mortimer’s own hesitancy about marriage—it’ll be a miracle if Mortimer makes it to his wedding. Arsenic and Old Lace is a classic black comedy about the only thing more deadly than poison: family.

Engineering Physics students built mousetrap cars to explore science concepts and engineering design skills.

EAST SENIORS!
Graduation may not feel like around the corner, but believe it or not, we need to address certain graduation details this month. Meet in the auditorium THURSDAY 10/3 during your advisory. There will be a presentation from Jostens regarding your cap and gown orders and Mr. Victor will be discussing ceremony requirements. Any students who are on an early release schedule may come down after their last class. Information will be posted in Teams after the presentations as well as the main office in case you miss anything.

Congrats to our LWE Students of the Month for September!
These students demonstrated exceptional actions, whether through academic achievement, community service, acts of kindness, leadership, or any other notable contribution that makes a positive impact.

Seniors shared their excitement for college by wearing a college shirt alongside math teacher Mrs. Andruch. PPS is promoting College App Drop-ins each Tuesday during the month of October to answer any questions students may have during the application process.
