LWE Interact Club joined the community over the weekend in downtown Frankfort by volunteering to pass out hot chocolate to all who attend.

Today students listened to guest speakers from the Will County State's Attorney Office. Dr. Scott DuBois and Kelly Tebo provided information on substance abuse prevention.

Saturday our Varisty Girls and Boys Basketball Teams travel to the Hoosier Gym in Knightstown, IN to take on LWC! Game times are 10am (9am cst) for the Girls and 12 pm (11am cst) for the Boys. Tickets are $10 cash at the door. Watch the movie Hoosiers and come on down to the games!

Today staff from Linden Oaks: Daneen Taylor, Manager of Outpatient Programs and Taylor Jacobs, Clinical Therapist spoke at LWE. These guest speakers provided information on suicide awareness and prevention as well as common symptoms of depression and anxiety. Students learned the warning signs, available supports, and ways to care for themselves to support their mental, emotional and physical health.
This week is LWE's final round of Pennies for Patients Drive. Remember, your efforts are helping local kids with cancer and funding research around the world to find cures. It’s helping families who need assistance with medicine, seeing doctors and other treatment related expenses. Donations will help those going through chemotherapy, radiation and bone marrow transplants.

Señorita Haas’s, Señora Poulos’s, and Senor Shannon’s Spanish 2 classes used their vast knowledge of vocabulary to play board games from Spanish speaking countries.

LWE students are proving that teamwork makes the dream work! From group projects to brainstorming sessions, they're learning how to communicate, share ideas, and support each other to achieve success. Our Intro to Foods classes worked in teams to find the best pizza recipe while Spanish 3 students practiced a sales pitch. It's inspiring to see our Griffins come together in a collaborative environment.
After learning about famous German speaking artists and their art, German 3 and 4 tried their hand at making an original "Hundertwasser."
We are heading into the final days of our fundraising to help The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society find cures for blood cancer, and EVERY cent counts!
