Lincoln-Way East Skills USA members attended a career builder field trip to Tri-State Cut Stone and Brick in Frankfort. Students learned industry knowledge on how Tri-State receives architectural blueprints, then designs, quotes and ultimately cuts huge Indiana Limestone blocks into beautiful building facade pieces.
LWE SkillsUSA is open to any student that enjoys working and being hands on. SkillsUSA's principal pillars of excellence are Technical Skills, Workplace Skills and Personal Skills. Thank you to Tri-State Cut Stone for allowing us to visit.
Our future Griffins enjoyed Halloween throughout the East hallways. The Preschool class put on a fun event for these tiny trick or treaters.
Day of the Dead celebrations were buzzing in the LWE World Language department this week.
LWE students attended a presentation on drug awareness/prevention during their lunch/advisory hours. Our guest speaker is from the Chicago Division Drug Enforcement Administration. The agent discussed information on the topic of substance use- drugs that are abused, the dangers of them, and the importance making healthy choices.

The 2022 Career Fair did not disappoint! The Fair offered a variety of businesses and industries to our students. Students were able to talk with employers about career opportunities in the fields of automotive, welding, construction, police & fire, and many more!
SWSC NHS students collaborated with Habitat For Humanity Restore in Joliet as their annual service project.
LWE Key Club has a membership of 166 students who are dedicated to serving their community.
During the month of October, they collected items for P.A.W.S. of Tinley Park. So far this year they have 731 adoptions completed! (President Vaught Mitchell pictured)

Teaching Internship students were so excited to be at Mokena Elementary, & Grand Prairie today.
Teaching Internship students had their 1st day of interning in classrooms with teachers 3x a week to learn what the field of education is all about. Our East students are at Mokena Intermediate, Hilda Walker, Hickory Creek, Dr. J Rogus, Mokena Elementary, & Grand Prairie.
