FBLA is the high school division of Future Business Leaders of America-Phi Beta Lambda, Inc. FBLA helps high school students prepare for careers through academic competitions, leadership development, and educational programs. It is the largest business career student organization in the country with around 210,000 members.
Five members of the Lincoln-Way East H.S. chapter qualified and competed at the National Leadership Conference held in Chicago, IL from June 29-July 1. Over 12,000 students from multiple states and countries competed in a variety of business events, attended workshops, talked with a variety of universities, and networked with future employers. This is a highly engaging and competitive conference.
- Gia Bucci and Olivia Lullo (Class of 2023) – Broadcast Journalism
- Sohum Desai and Avery Jones (Class of 2024) – Introduction to Social Media Strategy
- Tijana Farkic (Class of 2023) – Sports and Entertainment Management
Sohum Desai and Avery Jones were extremely successful and placed 3rd out of more than 200 teams in the nation for their event. Introduction to Social Media Strategy challenged the students to create a promotional theme and a social media event for a professional sports team. These two knocked it out of the park with their event and successfully presented a professional campaign.
All of these students from Lincoln-Way East H.S. will bring their knowledge and experiences from the National Leadership Conference to their local chapter. They will hold officer positions in the 2022-23 school year and will mentor future leaders!
