The Lincoln-Way East chess team beat out 24 teams to win IHSA sectionals last weekend. This is the first time in school history that the chess team has won the sectionals competition.
The event was hosted by Andrew High School in Tinley Park, and all participating teams were competing for a spot in the Illinois State Chess Tournament (which is the largest scholastic chess tournament in North America)!
Congratulations to Kody Wilamowski, Khoi Vo, Divya Thumu, Robert Hand, Blake Carlson, Jack Bojan, Jon Creech, Gabe Panner, Ryan Paris (not pictured) and Coach Matt Johnson on this wonderful accomplishment!
