ACTIVITIES

Activity Name:
Lincoln-Way Indoor Drumline

Description:
Below is a description for the "Lincoln-Way Indoor Drumline," an activity that began last winter (2019).

The Lincoln-Way Indoor Drumline is an extracurricular percussion ensemble made up of students from all three Lincoln-Way schools. Auditions are held in November/December and performances run through March/April. Students on the roster are placed in either the marching drum line or the front ensemble (mallets, keyboards, auxiliary).

Performers work together to create an engaging and exciting production that involves marching, movement, and music. Through music, performers respond to the emotions and stimuli with the use of their instruments, space, and choreography. Along with fundamental musical development, the activity develops the students both mentally and physically.

Membership is open to all students involved in a Lincoln-Way High School Music Department, the Lincoln-Way Marching Band, or by special invitation of the Directors. Rehearsals are required and are held after school and on the weekends.
