Veronica Shaw - Associate Principal of Curriculum and Instruction

I have been in education for 16 years and was a classroom teacher for 13. I received my bachelors and masters degrees from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. I then furthered my education, receiving a Doctor of Administration degree, from the University of St. Francis.

My first 5 years in education were in Plainfield School District where I taught Spanish. After coming to Lincoln-Way, I continued to teach Spanish as well as spent 6 years as a dean of students. Throughout my career, I coached swimming, bowling, and softball. I also sponsored various clubs and activities such as MSA and Spanish Honor Society, before moving to the Associate Principal of Discipline role.

At home I have an extremely supportive family that consists of my husband, Jason, and 2 sons, Christian (8) and Bryce (5). Our family is extremely involved with the Down Syndrome Diagnosis Network & Lurie Children's Hospital, where I am a Parent Wise volunteer. Furthermore, I instruct teaching courses at the University of St. Francis and serve as secretary on the Lockport Township High School Board of Education.

In taking on the role of Associate Principal of Curriculum and Instruction, I look forward to working with teachers and administration in providing a well-rounded high school experience for all LWC students. This is an exciting time at Central, and I am excited to be part of it!
