
The Lincoln-Way East Future Business Leaders of America were invited for a tour of Lou Malnati's in Tinley Park. Lou's is a family run business that has over 80 locations in multiple states. Students were able to make their own pizzas and learned what it takes to run a successful restaurant.






The Lincoln-Way Central Music Department held its annual Swing Knight Gala Saturday, March 11th at the historic Jacob Henry Mansion Estate in Joliet. Parents and other guests enjoyed dinner and raffles/silent auctions provided by families and local businesses.
Funds raised during the Swing Knight Gala will benefit all music programs at Lincoln-Way Central.

Both of the Lincoln-Way AFJROTC Academic Bowl teams made it to the finals in DC. They were one of only 16 teams nationwide from 630 teams to earn a spot. This is the second year in a row that the Lincoln-Way Central/West team made it to the finals, and the East team will also be competing there this year. This is first time that both LW teams will compete at nationals together! Good luck!

The district-wide welding competition took place last night at Lincoln-Way Central, and it was a huge success! The results of the contest are as follows:

In addition to the contest, $15,320 was raised for our "Heroes for Hearts" fundraiser benefiting the American Heart Association and the J and J Memorial Foundation. Congratulations to Lauren Cronk, the winner of the CFMoto ZForce 950 HO EX side by side UTV, who purchased the winning ticket from her niece Jenna, a Lincoln-Way West student. Lincolnway Special Recreation Association is taking over PE classes at Central today! Students are playing adapted sports and learning about the various resources available through LWSRA.







With a thrilling win last night in the AHAI State Tournament, Lincoln-Way Hockey Varsity Gold (#7 seed) won their Elite Eight game vs Maine (#2 seed) to advance to the Final Four game this Friday.
If they win on Friday, Varsity would advance to the championship game at the United Center! Come out to support the team and cheer them on as they play Chicago North in the Final Four game at The Edge Ice Arena in Bensenville this Friday night, 3/10 at 8:00pm. .


The Lincoln-Way Symphony Orchestra is hosting its annual concert on March 19th at 2pm at Lincoln-Way Central. This 66-member extracurricular orchestra features string, wind, brass and percussion instrumentalists from West and Central. This concert will also feature members of the Illinois Philharmonic Orchestra who have been assisting with the preparation of the concert.

Join us for the annual ArtWorks Festival on March 18th from 10am-3pm at Lincoln-Way East! . The festival includes artwork from 33 area schools from kindergarten through high school, hands-on art activities for kids, and music performances. The event is free to the public. Yesterday, Ashley from RejuveNate Plants & Wellness talked to the LWE Bring Change 2 Mind club about how plants and art can be such an amazing form of relaxation and self care. She told her very inspirational story which emphasized the true need for self love. The bc2m team also painted pots and planted succulents, and learned that scientifically, plants can boost your happiness.


Ms. Dawn McAvoy talked to the 2nd hour forensic science class at East about her experience with the Will County Sheriff Department's outdoor education opportunity. Students learned about the Blow Fly cycle from the person who brought this course to our district over 18 years ago. Thank you, Ms. McAvoy for taking the time to talk to us today.


Last week, the Knights hosted the much-anticipated bench rep test in Human Performance class! 2nd hour dominated with an incredible performance. Way to go!



Les étudiants de français 1 jouent aux charades! Last week, French 1 students at West practiced retelling a story with a game of charades. They guessed which statements about the story their partners were acting out, and had lots of practice saying sentences aloud so they could eventually retell it on their own.


Welcome to Starbooks! Freshmen Seminar classes visited the LWE library today for a memorable book talk. Griffins participated in a 'speed dating' activity with a list of books recommended by librarian, Mrs. Siemann. They evaluated two books at each table, switched tables several times, and then met with their peers to discuss their findings. The purpose of the activity was to expose students to a multitude of books and choose one for their biography assignment.





Warrior Way is sharing positivity at West today! Senior leaders created clothespins with a variety of positive messages to share with their peers for Random Acts of Kindness Day.





Mr. Harrah’s psychology of the mind class at East had a brain lab activity today. In this “brain surgery” lab, student used candy, fruit, and other objects to recreate the brain and all of its parts. Once surgery was complete, they had to correctly explain the function of each part of the brain. The students got competitive and had fun!



All three schools welcomed the Class of 2027 last night at Open House! We hope our incoming freshmen are energized and excited about coming to high school next year after seeing all of the great things that Lincoln-Way has to offer!







Members of the LWC & LWW orchestras participated in an open rehearsal of the world-famous Chicago Symphony Orchestra yesterday!


Mr. Woodburn‘s class at Central learned about the great depression through a simulated activity. Students re-created life during this time, and acted as married couples living at the end of the Roaring 20s. They endured the Stock Market Crash and experienced the Great Depression. They were forced to learn how to manage a meager budget during trying times. Students gained a deeper understanding of the historical impact of the Great Depression.



Congratulations to the East chess team for placing in the top quarter at the IHSA State Tournament. Special shout out to Gabe Panner who finished undefeated with the highest score of the 1,100 players in the tournament!
