Foundation Table - Woods Students

On March 8th, the Lincoln-Way 210 Foundation for Education hosted its annual Dinner Gala at Odyssey Country Club, raising an impressive $73,000 for student grants and scholarships through auctions, raffles, and donations.

One standout auction item was a live-edge coffee table, handcrafted by Lincoln-Way West Woodworking 2 and Welding 3 students. The walnut wood, sourced from Lake Geneva, was sold at a generous discount by a former high school shop student who loved the cause.

“The Lincoln-Way Foundation has been extremely generous and supportive of the Career and Technical Education department during my seven years at Lincoln-Way. My first year in the district, they purchased new woodshop tables for us, which really gained my attention and appreciation for all that they do,” said Nick Schroder, CTE teacher at Lincoln-Way West. “Our goal with this table project was to highlight just a few of the amazing things these young adults are capable of. Hopefully this project excited the community and can be something we do for years to come!”

Guests admired the table throughout the evening before it sold for $700. Lincoln-Way is grateful to the Foundation for its support and proud of the students for putting their skills to the test in such a meaningful way.
