ACTIVITIES
Activity Name:
Winter Guard
Description:
The Lincoln-Way Winter Guard is an extracurricular auxiliary/color guard competitive dance ensemble made up of students from all three Lincoln-Way schools. Auditions are held in November and competitions run through April.
Through music, performers respond to the emotions and stimuli with the use of dance, props, and color guard equipment. The activity develops the students both mentally and physically. Membership is open to all students involved in a Lincoln-Way High School Music Department, the Lincoln-Way Marching Band, or by special invitation of the Directors. Rehearsals are required and are held after school and on the weekends.
The LWWG travels and performs each year extensively throughout the Midwest. They have earned national recognition by successfully competing in the Winter Guard International Competition. The LWWG is an active member in the Midwest Color Guard Circuit.
