Students Against Destructive Decisions (SADD)
Description:
For more than 30 years, Students Against Destructive Decisions (SADD) has been committed to empowering young people to lead education and prevention initiatives in their schools and communities. SADD is dedicated to ensuring a healthy, happy, and empowered life, throughout every stage of life. This means not only adhering to the mission of helping our youth turn away from drinking and driving but also exploring the prevention of other destructive decisions through peer-to-peer communication.
We are proud to take a positive stand on important issues that face our teens through youth leadership development. This means helping teens and the adults in their lives to better understand the pressures that they face on a day-to-day basis through a variety of educational and motivational material.
During our bimonthly SADD meetings, members determine the topics of concern and plan the activities to foster awareness and prevention. Past campaigns have included: participation in Red Ribbon week, promotion of healthy sleep habits, participation in Earth Day activities, preventing distracted driving, and prevention of drinking and driving. You can visit www.sadd.org for more information on these initiatives.
