ACTIVITIES
Activity Name:
Madrigals
Description:
A Madrigal Dinner is a modern-day recreation of the Renaissance feasts once held in grand baronial halls across England during the twelve days of Christmas. The Madrigal Singers, Bel Canto Singers, and Troubadours are auditioned ensembles comprising students from 9th to 12th grade. These select groups perform both advanced Renaissance music and contemporary pieces at the annual Madrigal Dinners. Additionally, actors are cast into various roles based on the dinner’s theme through an audition process.
Auditions for Madrigals will take place during the first week of school, with preparation sessions offered the week prior. Students enrolled in a choir class are eligible to audition for a vocal ensemble, while all Lincoln-Way students can audition for roles as Madrigal actors.
