Future Farmers of America (FFA)

Description:
The FFA organization is open to all members enrolled in an agriculture course. The members learn a variety of skills through participating in the activities of the organization. Members learn to take part in meetings, to follow parliamentary procedures, to speak in public and to cooperate with their fellow students in programs for individual and community betterment.

During the year, members may participate in a variety of contests at the local, sectional, district, state or national level. Some of the contests are horse, livestock and dairy evaluation, crop judging, land use selection, parliamentary procedures and public speaking. Many members also prepare exhibits to compete at the summer agriculture fair. Members may also receive a variety of awards for their participation.
