Prom fashion show to be held Saturday, March 2 at L-W North Wednesday, February 27, 2013
Fashion merchandising students are teaming up with Lincoln-Way North High School's Athletic Boosters to stage a prom fashion show on March 2.
"The class will be assisting in some of the planning stages as well as some of the model coordinating, commentary and script writing," said Maria Gaytan, the fashion merchandising teacher at Lincoln-Way North and Lincoln-Way East high schools.
Twenty-one students from both schools are assisting with the event, including several who will serve as models.
"We want students to experience what it takes to plan a fashion show," said Gaytan. "Some of our students are interested in pursuing a career in fashion, and this is a perfect opportunity for them to gain some insight into what it takes to run a fashion show."
The fashion show, which students and the Athletic Boosters have titled "Country Rocks the Runway," will begin at 1 p.m. March 2 in the Lincoln-Way North High School auditorium, 19900 S. Harlem Ave., Frankfort.
It will feature prom fashions for both males and females.
Tickets are $5 in advance for students and $15 in advance for adults. Tickets also will be sold at the door for $10 for students and $20 for adults.
An optional luncheon is also available for an extra $10. The luncheon will be catered by Caffe Milan of Frankfort and begin at 11:30 a.m. that day.
For tickets or more information, contact Athletic Booster Dee Hill at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Proceeds from the fashion show will benefit the athletic programs at Lincoln-Way North High School.
