On Saturday, May 6, 2017, the Lincoln-Way West Music Boosters will host a Jazz Café in the Lincoln-Way West auditorium. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. and the event will begin at 7:00 p.m. The event will feature:
• Two award winning Lincoln-Way West High School Jazz Bands under the direction of Scott Wagstaff,
• The Lincoln-Way West High School Jazz Choir, under the direction of Tom Venutolo,
• And the Liberty Junior High Jazz Band, under the direction of Jen Clark.
Special guest artists Rob Parton will also perform. Parton is the Associate Professor of Trumpet at Capital University in Columbus, Ohio; he is a well-known trumpet artist, performer, and bandleader.
Coffeehouse beverages and desserts will be available for purchase throughout the night. The event will also feature a raffle and a silent auction which will include vouchers for the Village of New Lenox’s Triple Play Concert Series and a pair of Chicago Cubs tickets. At the close of the event, the music boosters will also pull the winning ticket for their third annual car raffle.
“Our Jazz Café is really just a nice evening to sit back and enjoy some great music in a more casual setting, while at the same time supporting the Lincoln-Way West Music Program,” says Jazz Café Chair Paige Alcoser. “The music is going to be fantastic and all the students that will be performing are really talented. We hope that people who don’t have kids in the Jazz program will come out and see how wonderful it is. We’ve had some great support from the community in all the items donated for our raffle prizes and its shaping up to be a really fabulous evening.”
Admission to the Jazz Café is $10. Children under age 10 will gain free admission. Ticket order forms are available at www.lwwmusic.org; limited tickets will be available at the door. Those with questions should contact Paige Alcoser at email@example.com.
