Lincoln-Way Central Music Department to perform Monday, April 10, 2017
On May 4, 5, and 6, at 7:00 p.m., the Lincoln-Way Central Music Department will present the classic Broadway musical “Guys and Dolls” in the Lincoln-Way Central Fine Arts Center. Tickets can be ordered online by visiting www.lwcmusic.org, or by calling 815-462-2300.
Director Liz Yerkovich says, “The LWC students are working hard and having a blast getting prepared for their production…This fun loving show is sure to leave the audience with a skip in their step and a song in their heart!
“Guys and Dolls,” which opened on Broadway in 1950, has become one of the most loved and performed musicals in the world. Some of the memorable songs by Frank Loesser include “Luck Be a Lady,” “A Bushel and a Peck,” “I’ll Know,” “If I Were a Bell,” and “Sit Down, You’re Rockin’ the Boat.” “Guys and Dolls” has been revived on Broadway several times, and in 1955 it was made into a film starring Marlon Brando and Frank Sinatra.
The principal characters in the Lincoln-Way Central production will be played by Tom Burchett (Sky Masterson), Elena Karnezis (Sarah Brown), Tom Cook (Nathan Detroit), Reagan Carstens (Miss Adelaide), Mac D’Amico (Nicely-Nicely Johnson), Nick Natalie (Benny Southstreet), Amy Zajac (Arlene Abernathy), and Taylor Autero (General Cartwright). Additional roles are being played by Nick Boeckman (Harry the Horse), Brenden Delcorio (Emcee), Zak Dundek (Joey Biltmore), Jacob Jablonski (Big Jule), Ty Kruizenga (Rusty Charlie), Bobby Tervin (Angie the Ox), and Cal Swift (Drunk).

“Guys and Dolls” is being directed and choreographed by Liz Yerkovich, assisted by Shelley Crawford. Other staff members include Music Director Mike Bultman, Orchestra Conductor Christopher Mroczek, Technical Director Nate Jackson, and Set Construction Jim Nealon.
