Area schools come together for Lincoln-Way Fine Arts Festival: ArtWorks 2017Thursday, March 2, 2017
On March 18, students from 32 area schools, including all three Lincoln-Way high schools, will exhibit their dance, musical, and visual art talents at ArtWorks 2017, a fine arts festival sponsored by Lincoln-Way Community High School District 210.
Visitors to ArtWorks 2017 will have an opportunity to view musical and dance performances by school choirs, youth strings, and dance groups, attend a variety of art demonstrations and hands-on workshops for all ages, and view an art exhibit of approximately 900 art pieces by students of Lincoln-Way High School District 210, New Lenox School District 122, Frankfort School District 157C, Summit Hill School District 161, Mokena School District 159, Manhattan School District 114, as well as several area private schools.
Professional artists from the community John Tylk, Ken Hawke and Ted Fuka will be on hand to answer questions and demonstrate various art techniques.
The ArtWorks 2017 Festival is being held in conjunction with Frankfort’s Community Showcase. The Community Showcase will be held in the Lincoln-Way East Field House, and will offer families plenty of opportunities to interact with local businesses and vendors.
ArtWorks 2017 will begin at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, March 18, 2017 at Lincoln-Way East High School, located at: 201 Colorado Avenue, Frankfort. The festival will conclude at 3:00 p.m. Admission is free and open to the public; those who are interested are encouraged to stop by and enjoy a day devoted to celebrating the arts and the community.
