Lincoln-Way Schools to host Toy Drive for Pediatric Oncology Treasure Chest FoundationFriday, February 10, 2017
Over the next two to three weeks, Lincoln-Way Central, Lincoln-Way East, and Lincoln-Way West will be collecting toys for the Pediatric Oncology Treasure Chest Foundation.
Items for donation should be new and unwrapped. The items are provided to a wide range of ages, from toddlers to 18-year olds. Items such as new toys, books, crafts, accessories, and gift certificates can be donated. Stuffed animals are not permitted. Dates of collection and collection locations are:
• Lincoln-Way Central: Now through March 3, 2017 in the Main Office
• Lincoln-Way East: Now through March 1, 2017 in the Main Office
• Lincoln-Way West: Now through February 24, 2017 in the Main Office or SSO
Young patients, who often face daylong chemotherapy treatments and long inpatient stays, appreciate the opportunity to pick a small gift from the treasure chest after their treatments. These items can bring joy to an otherwise difficult experience. Forty-five treatment centers nationwide will benefit from contributions to the Pediatric Oncology Treasure Chest Foundation.
“The Pediatric Oncology Treasure Chest Foundation has always been extremely appreciative of our TEAM Asset donations,” says Lincoln-Way West Activity Coordinator, Heather Novak. “Our community does a tremendous job giving back and we are once again looking forward to making a difference in the lives of children with cancer.”
