Wednesday, November 16, 2016

On June 1, 2016, just before the graduation ceremony, the Lincoln-Way North senior class presented the Board of Education with a class gift from the graduating seniors. The seniors chose to memorialize the accomplishments of the Phoenix with a trophy case to be displayed at Lincoln-Way East.

After organizing the many plaques, photos, trophies, and accomplishments of the Lincoln-Way North students, the trophy case is complete. The trophy case sits in the Lincoln-Way North “Wing of Fame” in the northern hallway near the gymnasium of Lincoln-Way East. The “Wing of Fame” is a hallway fully lined with the accomplishments of the Phoenix. All Lincoln-Way students, alumni, parents and community members are welcome to see the hallway.

“I am pleased that the 8 years’ worth of accomplishments by the students of Lincoln-Way North will live on in this display,” says Dr. Mark Cohen. Cohen served as the principal at Lincoln-Way North from 2013 until 2016.

“The academic, athletic, and fine arts successes the Phoenix enjoyed will continue to be visible for the entire community to see. The students recognized in these awards worked very hard for these honors and I am excited to see them on display once again.”
