Lincoln-Way Central Mathletes win second conference meet in a rowFriday, October 21, 2016
The Lincoln-Way Central Mathletes won their second conference meet in a row on October 19th. Lincoln-Way Central scored 696 points to Lincoln-Way West’s 686 points. The Knights captured nine first-place spots and two second-place spots out of 15 areas of competition. For the first time in Lincoln-Way Central Mathlete history, all three oral competitions earned perfect scores. Sophomore oralists were Ennis Lange and Behnam Shamsaddin in the topic of Sets, juniors were Ben Bethke and Alex Manka in the topic of Probability, and seniors Matt Klock and Bailey Tincher in the topic of Linear Programming.
First place Knights in the senior topic of Solving Triangles were Liana Chidichimo, Jacob Culver, Lauren Franceschini, Eric Hypke, Matthew Murphy, Zoe Tian, and Jared Thomson; in the junior topic of Coordinate Geometry were Sean Dennelly, Zak Dundek, Nick Geoppo, Taylor Lenburg, Julia Roessler, Kelly Tran, Luke Laschober and Emily Parker; in the sophomore Radical Equations team were Jeremy Brown, Kathleen Findlay, Jonah Haskins, Justin Lundy, Melissa Tran and Brett Thomson; in the sophomore Matrices and Determinants team were Teresa Barrett, Kalei Bass, Mia Chidichimo, Kylie Krawulski, Ennis Lange, Sebastian Reid, Jonah Haskins and Brent Thomson; in the freshmen Factoring team were George Burchfield, Ryan Curran, Rebecca Hedges, Daniel Kahl, Jared Kreis, Chelsea Verheyen, Payton Eggert and Daniel McNulty; in the freshmen/sophomore Calculator team were Peter Mifflin, Behnam Shamsaddin, Melissa Tran, Allison Ceh, Payton Eggert, Anthony Wasowicz, Ethan Fazio and Ryan Curran.
