Lincoln-Way West and Lincoln-Way Central FBLA members attend etiquette dinner Thursday, October 20, 2016
On Tuesday, October 18, Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) students from Lincoln-Way West and Lincoln-Way Central gathered at Gatto’s in New Lenox for the FBLA annual etiquette dinner.
The goal of this annual event is for students to learn specific skills that professionals use to appropriately present themselves in business settings. Between 6:30 p.m. and 8:00 p.m., students listened to a presentation by owner Frank Gatto and interacted with each other in order to practice skills. Gatto taught students how to introduce themselves, how to properly order, and social rules for establishing relationships.
“This is our favorite event of the year in FBLA,” says FBLA sponsor, Brian Glynn. “Getting to meet and greet with Frank Gatto is a great experience for the students. He is very honest person and relates very well to the students. Learning from a local restaurant owner like Frank is an experience the students will not forget.”
Student Bailey Lawruk says, "It is always rewarding to have a self-made business person give you a real perspective on how to succeed in the future. These skills will help me learn how to own and run a business one day."
