Lincoln-Way Future Business Leaders Compete

Lincoln-Way students traveled to the Illinois Math & Science Academy (IMSA) competition this past Saturday in Aurora. Lincoln-Way was a co-host of the event with our students presently serving as Central Northern Area Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer.

Here were the results of the top finishers:

Accounting I - Nikhil Piska - 3rd Place
Business Communications - Weston Dell - 1st Place
Business Ethics - Nell Borys, Ryan Braun, and Bailey Leavy - 2nd Place
Business Law - Clio Spada - 2nd Place (She actually tied for first, but lost the tie breaker)
Business Plan - Kerrigan and Sydney McAllister - 2nd Place
Computer Game & Simulation Programming - Brandon Hesslau and Ben Gimenez - 1st Place
Healthcare Administration - Dan Hudziak - 1st Place
Insurance Risk and Management - Christine Kettmann - 2nd Place (She too tied for first, but lost the tie breaker)
Introduction to Business - Nick Geoppo - 1st Place
Personal Finance - Jenna Yassin - 2nd Place
Public Speaking I - Addy Kolsto - 3rd Place
Sales Presentation - Sebastian Khattabi - 1st Place
Social Media Campaign - Maddy Osowski, Anna Piech, and Juiette Stearns - 1st Place

The FBLA state competition will be held in Springfield on April 1-2.

The kids are really excited and motivated to earn their way to the international competition in Atlanta, commented FBLA sponsor Christine Ahearn.

Board elections also took place at the event, and Lincoln-Way again took 3 out of the 4 offices in the election. Sebastian Khattabi will serve as Vice President, Raj Patel will serve as Secretary, and Joe Isdoras will serve at Treasurer.
