Lincoln-Way Area Curriculum Leaders Tour Pipefitters Training FacilityTuesday, December 8, 2015
Members of the Lincoln-Way Area Curriculum Council met at the Pipefitters Training Facility, Local Union 597 facility located at 10850 187th Avenue in Mokena, IL.
Representatives from Lincoln-Way District 210, all four LW high schools, Providence Catholic High School, Mokena District 159, Frankfort School District 157C, Summit Hill School District 161, New Lenox School District 121, Manhattan School District 114, St. Mary's of Mokena, St. Joe's of Manhattan, Lincoln-Way Are Special Education, and Providence Catholic High School meet each month to discuss curricular happenings, testing trends, transition, and alignment of programming.
This month, they were welcomed by the Pipefitters to see the training facility and hear about their apprenticeship programs. "They are always looking for ways to spread the word on the trades and what better way than to have us curriculum leaders hear first hand about local trade programs our students may want to explore, " Dr. Kathleen Wilkey of Mokena 159 said.
