Lincoln-Way Central Students Enjoy Knight at the Cinema Homecoming
Tuesday, September 29, 2015

Lincoln-Way Central students enjoyed their 2015 Knight at the Cinema Homecoming festivities which culminated with a 52-12 victory over Thornwood for the schools varsity football team.

The game followed a spirited pep assembly featuring short film clips, remaking popular movie scenes and replacing celebrities with Central teachers and staff. Students also enjoyed a lip sync battle among seniors Tim Sarhage, Nolan Hayes and Bryan Ditchman. Sarhage was named the winner of the lip sync battle with his rendition of Kelly Clarksons Since Youve Been Gone.

The pep assembly began with a presentation of colors by Central JROTC students including students Jenny Patterson, Vincent Senese, Aidan Piwnicki, Tylor Flood and Kyra Baltas.

Lincoln-Way Central pep assemblies are a hallmark of our students high school experience, said Dustin Waddell, Centrals Activities and Asset Coordinator. With fun, new additions like our remake of Jimmy Fallons Lip Sync Battle, we work hard to make the pep assemblies better each year.

The Homecoming Court was announced including freshman prince Trevor Bryles and princess Madison Brendal; sophomore prince Chris Robinson and princess Kala Culligan, junior prince Chris Keuch and princess Shannon Farrell and senior king Danny Gengo and queen Autumn Cooper.

Homecoming Olympics were also a popular hit as teams tested the strength of their cardboard boat as it raced across Centrals pool.

Mrs. Siebers team Coconut Thunder was named the Homecoming Olympics Champions for the most school spirit points. The team includes Bella Zarlengo, Makayla Otto, Allie Harris, Ian Duke, Zach Paymaster, Mikey Gentry, Bryan Ross and Colleen Barrett.

Additionally, it was the first year that Central had B96 BOOM deejay the dance and provide hit music during the students lunch hours.
