Lincoln-Way North Students to Shine during Homecoming Festivities

Lincoln-Way North High School will kick off its week of Homecoming festivities on Sunday, September 13 with a Homecoming parade beginning at 1:00 p.m. Students school spirit will shine with this years Homecoming theme Welcome to the Golden Age.

Dr. Mark Cohen, Principal of Lincoln-Way North.

The Homecoming parade will take off from Norths auditorium and make its way through area neighborhoods around the school.

Spirit Week begins Monday, September 14 with the following themes: Middle School Monday, students will wear Summit Hill apparel; Turtleneck Tuesday; Wednesday - Tacky Tourist Day, students will wear cargo shorts, plaid shirts, cameras and other tourist related attire, Thursday - College Day, students will dress like college students or wear their favorite college spirit wear and Phoenix Friday, students will dress in black and gold.

The popular Homecoming Olympics are Monday, September 14 and Tuesday, September 15 from 7 to 9 p.m. The Olympics feature team relay races in the stadium on Monday and the popular dodge ball tournament on Tuesday. Parents and community members are invited to attend the Olympics.

The Homecoming Pep Rally and football game against Thornridge High School will be held Friday, September 18 and the Homecoming Dance will be held Saturday, September 19.

We encourage all alumni from Lincoln-Way North to come show their school spirit to help support the students during the schools last homecoming football game, said Matt Lyke, North Athletic Director.

North students are looking forward to all of the great traditions of Homecoming and we expect to see record turn-out and participation from our students, said Cohen.
