Lincoln-Way 210 Achieves Bond Rating UpgradeThursday, December 17, 2020
Moody’s Investors Service has upgraded Lincoln-Way Community High School District 210’s Bond Rating to “Baa1 Positive Outlook.” This marks the third upgrade from Moody’s since August 2019.
8/14/2019 --> Ba1 --> Baa3
12/16/2019 --> Baa3 --> Baa2 Stable Outlook
12/16/2020 --> Baa2 --> Baa1 Positive Outlook
These upgrades are due to the district’s increased reserves and liquidity, which are a result of stronger budgetary management and consecutive years of budget surplus operating results.
In its report to Lincoln-Way administrators, Moody’s states, “The district’s continued financial improvement including material additions to fund balance and an expectation that the district will no longer require the use of tax anticipation warrants.”
“This rating improvement serves as another valuable independent assessment of the district’s financial improvements,” said Superintendent R. Scott Tingley. “The entire Lincoln-Way community has taken part in the district’s financial recovery. Thank you goes to the Board of Education, staff, students, and community members for their efforts."
