Message from Superintendent Tingley August 5, 2020Wednesday, August 5, 2020
Last night at the Special Meeting of the Board of Education, a resolution was approved to begin the 2020-2021 school year in-person with Blended Learning – A/B Days. Blended Learning - A/B Days allows for in-person learning while reducing the number of students in our buildings during the school day.
As health and safety remains our top priority, we are confident that Blended Learning allows for the teaching, learning, and social experiences that our community demands while in a safe and healthy environment.
However, the status of returning to school remains a fluid situation. District administration and the Board of Education will continue to monitor our region’s metrics and make changes to plans according to the guidelines established by the Illinois Department of Public Health and the Illinois State Board of Education. If necessary, plans are in place to move to full Remote Learning as well.
The complete Re-Opening Plan, including information regarding both Blended Learning – A/B Days and full Remote Learning, can be found HERE- Re-Opening Plan
Parents who wish to opt out of Blended Learning A/B days, and have not yet done so, should contact their PPS Department. Students who opt out of Blended Learning will be offered online courses with similar curricular scope and sequence to their in-person schedule. Select elective courses will be available, and students who opt out are eligible to participate in athletics and extracurricular activities.
Thank you for your continued support, and we look forward to welcoming our students back to school this fall.
