March 13, 2020

This afternoon, Governor Pritzker issued a directive to close all Illinois schools from Tuesday, March 17 through March 30. Lincoln-Way Community High School District 210 will close effective Monday, March 16. Given that District 210 has a previously scheduled Spring Break the week of March 30, school is not scheduled to resume until Monday, April 6.

Beginning Monday, March 16, ALL before and after school activities, meetings, events, competitions, practices, rehearsals, field trips, domestic travel, building rentals, and performances are canceled. This includes the use of our buildings by outside organizations.

Lincoln-Way District 210 will implement Enrichment e-Learning Days starting Tuesday, March 17 through March 27. For more information regarding Enrichment e-Learning days, please see attached FAQ.

While we do not have any confirmed cases of Coronavirus (COVID-19) in our district, this decision was made in an abundance of caution to limit the spread of the COVID-19 illness in our community. The governor shared that he will assess this situation at that time and may extend the need to keep schools closed.

The health and safety of our students, staff, and community remains our number one priority. Thank you for your continued patience and understanding as we monitor the pandemic and do our part to prevent the spread of this virus in our community.

Dr. R. Scott Tingley
