Lincoln-Way East Presents "Orchesis: Number 1 Hits"
Monday, January 13, 2020

The Lincoln Way East Orchesis dance club will perform "Orchesis: Number 1 Hits" on January 24-25. This year’s dance performance is a compilation of different styles of choreography designed as a tribute to your favorite movie songs from the 60's, 70's, 80's and today. The dancers will perform all styles of dance from hip hop to ballet. Performances will be at 7 p.m. on Friday, January 24 and Saturday, January 25 in the Lincoln Way East Fine Arts Center. Tickets are $7 for adults and $5 for students.

"We have a very talented group of girls this year. Their dedication and hard work has produced a very entertaining show," said Orchesis director Julie Widinski.

Orchesis gives students with a strong desire and talent to dance the opportunity of expressive movement through the art of dance performance. The goal is to educate and strengthen the appreciation of dance as an art form. All the dances are choreographed by high school students and allows them an opportunity to participate in leadership roles.
