Lincoln-Way East Sports Jerseys for Injured Student
Thursday, October 3, 2019

The Griffins are sporting their favorite jerseys today, many in hockey, to show their support for Lincoln-Way East senior Payton Bruns. Bruns, who plays for the Chicago Young Americans, was seriously injured in a hockey game Sunday night. While going after a loose puck, he slid out of control and into the board with his head down, breaking his C5 and C6. Students and teams are all taking pictures in their jerseys and posting it using #PB83 and #paytonstrong83. They also had poster boards out during lunch for all students to leave Payton a note of encouragement. Griffins have been told he’s making great improvements and can move both legs and arms and talk. All of Lincoln-Way 210 hopes you get better soon, Payton!
