ArtWorks Fine Art FestivalFriday, March 1, 2019
Students from 32 area schools, including all three Lincoln-Way high schools, will exhibit their musical and visual art talents at ArtWorks 2019, a fine arts festival sponsored by Lincoln-Way Community High School District 210 on Saturday, March 16 from 10 a.m.- 3 p.m. at Lincoln-Way East High School.
Visitors to ArtWorks 2019 will have an opportunity to enjoy musical performances by school choirs, youth strings and jazz combos; attend a variety of art demonstrations and hands-on workshops for all ages; and view an art exhibit of more than 900 art pieces by students ranging from Kindergarten to High School. Participating school districts are Lincoln-Way Community High School District 210, New Lenox School District 122, Frankfort School District 157-C, Summit Hill School District 161, Mokena School District 159 and Manhattan School District 114, as well as Providence High School and St. Mary’s School.
Professional artists from the community John Tylk and Ted Fuka will be on hand to answer questions and demonstrate various art techniques.
The ArtWorks Festival is being held in conjunction with Frankfort’s Community Showcase, which will be located in the Lincoln-Way East Field House, and offer families opportunities to interact with local businesses and vendors.
