Lincoln-Way Foundation Summer Fest to host two local bands
Tuesday, June 12, 2018

On July 13, 2018, the Lincoln-Way Foundation for Educational Excellence will host their first annual Lincoln-Way Summer Fest. The event will run from 6:00 – 11:00 p.m. at CD & ME in Frankfort, Illinois, and is open to adults age 21 and over.

The rain or shine event will feature two live bands: “Then Again” and “Johnny Russler and the Beach Bum Band.”

“It's going to be a great night of fun,” says Russler. “Being an LW teacher myself, and knowing how hard we work for the students and the community, I look forward to playing summertime music and giving my colleagues and the supporters of the Foundation a reason to enjoy themselves, let loose and have a great time—a party with a purpose.“

There are three ways to purchase tickets, which are only $30 each if purchased in advance:

• Tickets are currently live on Ticketmaster.
• Tickets can be purchased at CD & ME.
• Tickets are available at the main offices of Lincoln-Way Central, Lincoln-Way East and Lincoln-Way West.

“I am really pumped to play this event,” says lead singer of Then Again, Jayson Polad. “Not only is it a great way to support our students across the district, but we get to do it in such a fun way. Johnny and I have shared band stories for years but to now have an opportunity to play together for a cause our whole district and community can get behind is a real treat. It’s going to rock, literally and figuratively…but mostly literally.”

Limited quantities of table reservations, sponsorships and areas for class reunions are still available. To reserve tables or secure sponsorship, those interested should contact Bob Kennedy via email at Robert.Kennedy@lw210.org, or via phone at 815-462-2976; those interested in a class reunion should contact Beth Ryan (BethRyan2335@gmail.com).

Sponsors of the event include Old Second Bank, Coopers Hawk Winery & Restaurant, Kiwanis Club of Frankfort, and Glatz Management Services, Inc. Food will be available for purchase by Gatto’s and Dancing Marlin.

“The idea for Summer Fest originated from our desire to get parents and the community involved in a more casual and fun way,” says Kennedy. “Those who attend will get to enjoy two live band performances while socializing with other Lincoln-Way parents, alumni and community members. We are so excited for July!”
