Friday, April 20, 2018

The Lincoln-Way Marching Band (LWMB) will host the 1980s rock band, Night Ranger at the New Lenox Commons on Saturday, June 16, 2018. The outdoor concert will take place at 1 Veterans Parkway in New Lenox, Illinois and will benefit the LWMB in their efforts to raise funds for the 2019 Tournament of Roses Parade in Pasadena, California. Night Ranger will hit the stage at approximately 9 p.m.

“We are so excited to offer this concert to our community!” says LWMB Director Cary Ruklic. “Night Ranger is such an iconic band that makes us nostalgic for the ‘80s; we can’t wait for June!”

Night Ranger has earned widespread acclaim, multi-platinum and gold album status while leaving their indelible mark on the music charts with a string of best-selling albums (Dawn Patrol, Midnight Madness, 7 Wishes, Big Life and Man In Motion), its popularity fueled by an impressive string of instantly recognizable hit singles and signature album tracks. Producing legendary hits such as “Sister Christian,” “Don’t Tell Me You Love Me,” “When You Close Your Eyes,” the anthemic “(You Can Still) Rock In America,” along with "Sentimental Street," "Goodbye," "Sing Me Away," "Four in the Morning" and more. The band was also one of the first big "video" bands, with over ten number one videos on MTV.

“This is a great event for any and all ages; the opportunity to see Night Ranger while supporting our band is a win-win for everyone,” says Director Justin Barnish.

The LWMB will open the show, followed by two opening acts: Lever and I-Exist. In 2017, Lever was voted the Best Rock Band in Chicago by the “Chicago Reader.” The band is influenced by the music of those like Nirvana, The White Stripes, The Beatles and Smashing Pumpkins. I-Exist is best known for their innovative and unique sound, “transcending the limits of Modern Rock,” according to their Facebook page; in 2014 alone, the band toured across 42 states.
