Lincoln-Way West Music Department to perform "Fiddler on the Roof"
Tuesday, April 10, 2018

During the second weekend of April, the Lincoln-Way West Music Department will present their spring musical, “Fiddler on the Roof,” in the Lincoln-Way West auditorium. Tickets can be ordered online by visiting www.lwwmusic.org. Tickets are also available at the box office one hour prior to each performance. The shows will take place on:

• Friday, April 13, 2018 at 7 p.m.
• Saturday, April 14, 2018 at 7 p.m.
• Sunday, April 15, 2018 at 3 p.m.

Set in the little village of Anatevka, the story centers on Tevye, a poor milkman, and his five daughters. With the help of a colorful and tight-knit Jewish community, Tevye tries to protect his daughters and instill them with traditional values in the face of changing social mores and the growing anti-Semitism of Czarist Russia. Rich in historical and ethnic detail, the play’s universal theme of tradition cuts across barriers of race, class, nationality and religion, leaving audiences crying tears of laughter, joy and sadness.

“I’m honored and privileged to work with such an amazingly talented cast and crew! The students have made an emotional connection to the show that shows in every scene they perform on stage,” says Music Director Tom Venutolo.
