Lincoln-Way Marching Band awarded Second Consecutive First Place Title

On Saturday, October 14, 2017, the Lincoln-Way Marching Band (LWMB) was awarded their second consecutive first place in Class 6A.

The LWMB performed at the Illinois State University Invitational in Normal, Illinois on Saturday, October 14, 2017. The competition began at 7:00 a.m. Lincoln-Way performed their competitive show, “Bend, Twist and Turn” at 6:00 p.m.

The LWMB earned first place for their performance in Class 6A out of 7 total competitors including: Lockport Township High School, Lake Park High School, Naperville Central High School, Lincoln-Way, Huntley High School, Joliet West High School, and Rockford High School.

“We couldn’t be more proud of the performance the students gave on Saturday,” says Band Director, Cary Ruklic. “It’s a testament to their hard work and dedication.”

Due to weather restriction the Finals contest was cancelled for this year. The Band will compete this weekend at the Bands of America Indianapolis super regional at Lucas Oil Stadium. More information on the Lincoln-Way Marching Band can be found at www.lincolnwaymusic.org/lwmb.
