Friday, October 20, 2017

Lincoln-Way Hockey will host their annual “Stick It to Cancer” Hockey games on Saturday, October 21, 2017 at 6:30 p.m. at Homewood Flossmoor Ice Arena and Sunday, October 22, 2017 at 7 p.m. and 8:40 p.m. at Artic Ice Arena in Orland Park, IL.

The Lincoln-Way Hockey Club is supporting those fighting cancer in our communities by hosting their annual “Stick It to Cancer” Hockey games.

On Saturday, October 21, the game will take place at 6:30 p.m. at Homewood Flossmoor Ice Arena and JV Red will go up against Nazareth Academy.

On Sunday, October 22, the first game will begin at 7:00 p.m. at Arctic Ice Arena and JV Blue will be playing against Carl Sandburg High School. The second game of the night on Sunday, October 22, will begin at 8:40 p.m. at Arctic Ice Arena and Varsity Gold will take on Carl Sandburg High School.

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and Lincoln-Way Hockey is hoping for a big community turn-out at these games.

“The funds raised at all three of our games stay in our community to provide hope, help, and learning to anyone living with cancer and their loved ones,” says Joe Pustis, Lincoln-Way Hockey Club President.

Great raffles, a bake sale, 50/50 split the pot, and a Chuck-a-Puck event will take place at each game. During the Chuck-a-Puck event, crowd members can purchase a puck for $1.00 and after the 2nd period, toss it on the ice to see who can get their puck closest to the circle on the ice.

The Cancer Support Center gives strength, guidance, and support to anyone living with a cancer diagnosis, as well as to their loved ones. Their programs, resources, and services are always delivered by professional therapists, counselors, nutritionists, and experts; and are provided in a warm, welcoming and nurturing setting at no cost to participants.

Last year The Center served 4,700 people and provided over 12,500 program hours.
