Students at Lincoln-Way West recently had a guest speaker from the Will County State’s Attorney’s office. Guest speakers are common at the school, but since this visit was to the Animal World class, the visitor was four-legged, furry, friendly, and very obedient.

Lincoln-Way Foundation Approves Grant Requests

On December 11, the Lincoln-Way Foundation for Educational Excellence formally approved the funding of various grant requests totaling $43,740 for educational enhancements at all three high schools. Lincoln-Way department chairs submitted grant requests that were vetted, and the areas that will benefit include: Family & Consumer Sciences, Art, Industrial Tech, Math, Media Center, Music, Science, and Special Services.

On Saturday, December 15, 2018, the veterans’ graves at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery were honored at the annual “Wreaths Across America” wreath-laying event; the event took place at National Cemeteries across the country. The event was established to honor and remember veterans from each branch of the military, as well as the prisoners of war, and those missing in action.
