On Wednesday, February 1, 2017, seniors enrolled in the Business Internship/Hero Co-op program at Lincoln-Way West prepared among their classmates before participating in mock interviews with the administration. “Going out into the work world, there are so many times when we’re unprepared,” says teacher Amy Lidy. “So this is an opportunity for them to interview with real people who do this every day. It gives them the opportunity to get really great feedback.”

Lincoln-Way East to host Winter Strings Extravaganza

On Tuesday, February 7, 2017 at 7:00 p.m., Lincoln-Way East will host the Winter Strings Extravaganza in the Fine Arts Auditorium. Musicians from feeder districts and the Lincoln-Way East orchestra will perform. The show will open with a professionally trained Scottish Fiddler, and fiddle music will be performed throughout the night. Four festival orchestras will participate, featuring three student solo performances.

Free Registration for LWE Chili Cook-Off Competition continues through February 28

On March, 4, 2017, the Lincoln-Way Athletic Boosters will host a Chili Cook-Off in the cafeteria of Lincoln-Way East High School. The first prize winner will receive $100.00, the second prize winner will receive $50.00, and the third prize winner will receive $25.00. Only thirty contestants will be permitted to compete. The Lincoln-Way East Athletic Boosters have secured many contestants, and only a few vacancies remain. The boosters have announced that all who register will be reimbursed upon arrival to the event. Registration is $25.00, and will close February 28.

Lincoln-Way Central Mathletes win Region 14 qualifier to advance to state

On Saturday, February 25, 2017, the Lincoln-Way Central Mathletes won the Region 14 qualifier in the 4AA competition for state. In ten areas of competition, the Knights captured three first place spots and two second place spots. Lincoln-Way West Mathletes take second place in division 3AA, advance to state

On Saturday, February 25, 2017 the Lincoln-Way West Mathletes competed at the Illinois Council of Teachers Mathematics (ICTM) regional event held at Lincoln-Way East High School. The Warriors competed in division 3AA along with seven other schools. After three hours and ten different competitions, the West Mathletes scored 531 points to finish second in division 3AA.

Lincoln-Way West Wrestling makes history at state competition

On Saturday, February 25, 2017 at U.S. Cellular Coliseum in Bloomington, Illinois, the Lincoln-Way West Wrestling team earned third place in the state competition. Twenty-one wrestlers filled the Warrior roster for fourteen weight classes. In order to qualify for state, each team had to have previously won their sectional competition; eight total teams competed at the state competition.
