Lincoln-Way community leaders converge for Strategic Planning Session

Community members in the Lincoln-Way District 210 community met on Friday evening and Saturday morning, December 2-3, 2016, at Lincoln Way East High School, to participate in a special board meeting to provide input and guidance on how the district should move forward in the coming year. Recommendations from the special 107-person Strategic Long Range Planning Committee are expected to be discussed and adopted by members of the 210 Board of Education.

Lincoln-Way West student wins logo design contest for Lincoln-Way Half Marathon

Lincoln-Way East teacher commemorates Pearl Harbor attacks with personal story

On Wednesday, December 7, 2016, the usually loud hallway speakers at Lincoln-Way East fell silent between first and second hour classes. Normally during the passing period, a song plays over the speakers for “World Music Wednesday” to commemorate or honor someone’s culture.

Lincoln-Way Life Skills students prepare desserts for annual dance with lessons from former Lincoln-Way student

Every December, a holiday dance is held for students in the Lincoln-Way Life Skills Program. This year’s Life Skills Dance will take place on Friday, December 9 from 6:00 p.m. " 8:00 p.m. at Lincoln-Way Central. The dance welcomes students in the Life Skills Program, Best Buddies, Friends U-Knighted, and Warrior Pals. Each class makes a snack to bring to the dance and share with all those in attendance.

Lincoln-Way East students donate nearly 5,000 items in Silver Turkey Food Drive

From November 14-18, 2016, Lincoln-Way East Student Council hosted a Silver Turkey Food Drive during all first hour classes. Proceeds collected benefited the Frankfort Township Food Pantry. The Student Council Executive Board helped deliver/unload the food at the pantry.

Lincoln-Way students raise over $13,000 in donations to Pennies for Patients

Beginning October 17, 2016, students from Lincoln-Way high schools participated in the “Pennies for Patients” initiative. The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s “Pennies for Patients” program began in 1994, and collects funds raised in pennies and other spare change to fight cancer. Over 25,000 schools nationwide participate in the program.

Lincoln-Way to offer Adult Welding Class

Lincoln-Way High School District 210 will offer an adult welding class beginning in January. The classes will be held at Lincoln-Way East, located at 201 Colorado Avenue in Frankfort. The course will reach capacity when the three remaining spaces are filled.

Lincoln-Way Central students write letters to servicemen and servicewomen

On Monday, December 12, 2016, Matt Robbins’ third period History of World War I and World War II class wrote holiday letters to servicemen and servicewomen at the Naval Station Great Lakes. Through December 16, 2016, Robbins will collect letters from Lincoln-Way students which will be delivered to the base on December 25.

Over 400 Lincoln-Way students participate in annual Bridge Building Competition

The contest names the individuals who can best design, construct and test the most efficient bridge within given specifications. Lincoln-Way cadets participate in Wreaths Across America

On Saturday, December 17, 2016, the veterans’ graves at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery were honored at the annual “Wreaths Across America” wreath-laying event; the event took place at National Cemeteries across the country. The event was established to honor and remember veterans from each branch of the military, as well as the prisoners of war and those missing in action.

Lincoln-Way East Orchesis to perform "Orchesis goes to the Movies" in January

On January 27 and January 28, 2017, Lincoln-Way East Orchesis dance club will perform "Orchesis goes to the Movies." The dance performance is a compilation of various choreography styles, from ballet to hip hop, designed as a tribute to movie favorites. The dancers will perform to movie songs from the ‘60s, ‘70s, ‘80s and today. The performances will begin at 7:00 p.m. on January 27 and January 28 in the Lincoln-Way East Fine Arts Center. Tickets can be purchased at the door beginning at 6:30 p.m. before the performances and are $7.00 for adults and $5.00 for students. Tickets can be purchased in cash or with checks made out to Lincoln-Way East.

Lincoln-Way Central Wrestling Team to host "Battle for the Blue" theme night
