On the afternoon of February 8, 2018, Lincoln-Way East senior Samantha Grobmeier was traveling to an audition for a college musical theatre program; while en route to her audition, Grobmeier received an email from Choral Director Matthew Granger that notified her of another prestigious musical opportunity: she had been selected as the National Anthem singer at the IHSA State Basketball Tournament.[Read More]

LW West students receive Manhattan Irish Fest Scholarship; LW graduate named Grand Marshal

On Wednesday, February 21, 2018, the Manhattan Irish Fest Committee announced the winners of the 2018 Michael J. McHugh Memorial King and Queen Scholarship: two Lincoln-Way West students. The King award goes to Ryan Gentile and the Queen award goes to Sara Swanberg. Each student will receive a $1000 scholarship toward the school of choice. Since 2004, the Manhattan Irish Fest has awarded $27,000 in scholarships. Additionally, the committee announced the Grand Marshal of the parade: Lincoln-Way Community High School graduate, Joseph “Joe” Curran.[Read More]

On the evening of May 5, 2018, former Lincoln-Way East Athletic Director David Brost will be inducted into the Illinois Athletic Directors Association (IADA) Hall of Fame. The banquet will be held in Peoria, Illinois at the Embassy Suites by Hilton East Peoria Riverfront Hotel at 6:00 p.m. Brost is one of just five Athletic Directors in the state to receive this prestigious honor.[Read More]

On Thursday, February 15, 2018, Master Sergeant Dale Steen received notification that the Lincoln-Way East Air Force Junior Reserve Officer training Corps (AFJROTC) CyberPatriot computer network defense team took first place in their division for the state of Illinois.
